BIG AND LITTLE EVENTS

TRAINING AT CAMP O'BANNON
Our 7th training, we helped at Camp O'Bannon! This time we looked at prescription medications- what they are and how we can be safe around them. We even had Officer Trent with the Newark Police Department stop by to talk with us, answer some questions, and show off his police cruiser! Our Bigs also had the chance to talk with each other about some of their experiences as mentors and brainstorm new ways to make their matches even more amazing.
Thank you, Camp O’Bannon and Officer Trent, for helping to make this another awesome and successful Big and Little Training!
Training at the Dawes Arboretum
Matches headed out to the Dawes Arboretum, where they participated in a walk through woods and wetlands. They learned about wildlife and how to look for clues that they leave behind that can tell you about their whereabouts. The group got to see some geese, a red-tailed hawk, bluebirds, and red-winged blackbirds!
Everyone said that they felt this was a great learning experience and that they are more inclined to get outdoors to explore with their Littles now.
A BIG thanks to Dawes Arboretum, Nancy, our tour guide, and Lee’s Chicken (for some scrumptious food!)!

Community-based Outings
Hang out with and get to know other matches while going on a new adventure!

Our Matches Had a Wild Time!
Matches had the opportunity to visit The Wilds in Cumberland, Ohio. They piled on a charter bus from Cavalier Tours and headed out to get up close and personal with some wild animals. It was a beautiful day for a safari, and they even had a feathered friend check out some of the Littles a bit closer than they may have liked!
